Tom Byrne has performed professionally in the St. Louis area for over 20 years as a band leader and as accompaniast for a multitude of St. Louis Jazz greats such as Willie Akins, Paul DeMarinis, Kim Portnoy, Tom Kennedy, Reggie Thomas and Ptah Williams.  Tom has performed with the Muny Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony and in many performances at The Sheldon Concert Hall.

A Professor of Jazz Studies at Webster University, Tom teaches guitar, jazz theory, improvisation and several ensembles.  He received both his Bachelor and Master of Jazz Studies degrees from Webster.

The Tom Byrne Trio

Tom can be heard on Kim Portnoy's Jazz Orchestra CD "Wash Away the Dust of Everyday Life,"  Mardra and Reggie Thomas' MaxJazz release "Fade to Blue" and two "Jazz Spoken Here" CDs featuring Webster University Jazz Faculty members. He is currently completing a new CD entitled "Beyond Tomorrow," which features The Tom Byrne Trio playing Tom's original compositions.
